The first edition features sand from a special coastal feature in Southern Holland called Zandmotor, a huge artificial peninsula created in 2011 to reinforce the Dutch coastline. This natural glassware honors the stunning narrative of the Dutch coastline over time and the origins of the Netherlands via the sea, winds, rivers, and the creativity of humankind. Atelier NL used this sand on the invitation of Satellietgroep and in collaboration with their network of scientists.
